About the Festival >

The 23rd Illawarra Folk Festival will be held at the Bulli Showground, 15km north of Wollongong and 70km south of Sydney. The festival was formerly held in Jamberoo. This will be the third festival at Bulli Showground.

The Festival is organised by volunteers from the Illawarra Folk Club Inc. The Festival aims to present Australian and world folk music, song, dance, poetry and yarnspinning. There is a large emphasis on participatory events such as sessions, workshops and theme concerts. Generally there are around 200 events in 12 venues over 4 days.

Please read our Performer Guidelines and Remuneration Guidelines before filling out this form.

It is important to provide as much of the information requested as you can as it assists our Volunteers in assessing the application, communicating with you and producing media information and the souvenir programme.

2008 Special Theme - Australia on the Move
(The Festival has over the years presented various themes. The aim for this festival is to feature the songs, the stories and the poetry by, and about, those Australians whose life is spent constantly moving around. Performers are encouraged to indicate if they have material on Gypsies, Sailors, Swaggies, Depression Dole Seekers, Transient Gold Miners, Aborigines, Circus Workers, Sailors, Shearers, Canecutters, Fruit Pickers, other itinerant workers and of course the latest phenomenon - The Grey Nomads to fit in with the theme.)

Performances:

Festival Days Availability:

Accommodation:
Accommodation in Bulli is very limited. The festival would really appreciate as many performers camping as possible.

The Camp Site is within the Festival site. Cars are able to be parked adjacent to sites.

Otherwise Home Billets and some limited hotel accommdation can be requested but not guaranteed.
