2008 Illawarra Folk Summer School
16 and 17 January 2008

part of the 2008 Illawarra Folk Festival at Bulli

The Illawarra Folk Club is proud to present the 5th Illawarra Folk Summer School

on the 16th and 17th January, 2008 at the Northern Illawarra Uniting Church, Princes Hwy, Bulli.

 

The Folk Summer School aims to increase awareness of folk music traditions and provide opportunities for musicians of all ages to build on their skills

It's an action packed two days with a variety of tutors and a chance to be part of the Festival's Italian Lunch Concert! Presented by the Illawarra Folk Club Inc in a long continuing tradition of providing folk music tuition, awareness and opportunities to musicians and singers.

FORMAT

Each tutor will provide a session on their subject during the day from 9am to 4pm.

 

PLAY AT A BUSH DANCE, WEDNESDAY 16 January!

Students are also encouraged to perform with the Wongawilli Ceilidh Band at the Bush Dance in the Bulli Hertage Hotel, from 8pm. It will be a great chance to hear and play traditional folk tunes. Entry is free to this event and sheet music will be provided.

 

Also participants are encouraged to be part of the Festival Parade on Saturday at 6pm. There is a

 

COST

$60 for both days

or $40 per day

or $15 per session

Classes start: 9am

Lunch: Midday to 2pm.
